Gifted Children

Volume 475: debated on Monday 28 April 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families whether schools are required to inform parents when their children are identified as gifted and talented; and if he will make a statement. (201079)

There is no legal requirement for schools to inform parents when their children are identified as gifted and talented but we strongly encourage all schools to do so as children benefit from the involvement of parents in support for their learning.
