Alcoholic Drinks: Young People

Volume 475: debated on Tuesday 6 May 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how alcohol confiscated during the two-week enforcement campaign against underage drinking in February 2008 was disposed of. (200917)

In line with the legislation the alcohol confiscated during the campaign was disposed of in such a manner as considered appropriate by the confiscating officer.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the answer to my hon. Friend the hon. Member for Hornchurch (James Brokenshire) of 12 December 2007, Official Report, columns 666-8W, on alcohol drinks: young people, if she will publish equivalent figures for West Midlands Police force area on (a) the number of defendants proceeded against at magistrates courts, (b) the number of offenders cautioned and (c) the number of penalty notices for disorder issued. (193918)

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 12 December 2007, Official Report, columns 666-8W. Police force areas were not included in the table where there was no data for defendants proceeded against, cautioned or issued with a PND for illegal alcohol purchasing. This was referenced in footnote number 4.
