Sure Start Programme: Expenditure

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how much and what proportion of the Sure Start budget was spent on (a) building new children's centres, (b) building new buildings for existing children's centres, (c) staff salaries, (d) training existing staff, (e) play equipment and (f) food and catering in each year since the Sure Start programme was established. (205091)

[holding answer 12 May 2008]: The Department does not collect disaggregated data for expenditure on the Sure Start programme in the format requested. Capital and revenue spending in each year since the Sure Start programme was established is provided in the following table.
