Ministerial Policy Advisers: Data Protection

To ask the Prime Minister whether the data held by special advisers are the responsibility of the (a) Permanent Secretary of each Government Department or (b) Cabinet Secretary for the purposes of the (i) Data Protection Act 1998 and (ii) Freedom of Information Act 2000. (206593)

Special advisers are subject to the requirements of legislation in the same way as other civil servants.
