Farms: Local Authorities

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how many tenanted or managed farms are owned by each of the local authorities. (207083)

[holding answer 22 May 2008]: Local authorities in England have reported that they held 3,138 smallholdings as at 31 March 2007 (the most recent date for which figures are available). The number of smallholdings held by individual authorities is given in the following table. We do not hold information for Wales.
