Serious Organised Crime Agency

Volume 477: debated on Tuesday 17 June 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proportion of its time and resources the Serious Organised Crime Agency spends on tackling (a) organised immigration crime and (b) human trafficking. (208312)

The Serious Organised Crime Agency's Annual Report for 2007-08, notes that 12 per cent. of its operational effort during the year had been directed against organised immigration crime including human trafficking. This relates to the overall operational work of the agency, and different operations require different amounts of time, personnel, international and national partnership working to achieve the outcome, so it does not directly translate into financial or other resource terms.
