To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when the Saville inquiry is due to report; and what his most recent estimate is of the cost of the inquiry. (209230)

Lord Saville recently confirmed that the tribunal hopes to submit its report to me by the end of this year or shortly thereafter. I am advised that the cost of the Bloody Sunday inquiry is £183 million as at end April 2008. Based on estimates by the inquiry and the Ministry of Defence, the total cost is expected to be £188 million.
