Sixth Form Education: Collective Worship

Volume 479: debated on Monday 1 September 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families what information his Department has provided to sixth-formers about their right to opt in and out of collective worship. (221161)

The right of sixth-formers to excuse themselves from collective worship, as set out in section 55 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, was commenced in September 2007. We have updated guidance which is sent out to schools and governors, as well as guidance on our websites to reflect the position.
