[holding answer 6 October 2008]: While English Heritage receives applications, assesses buildings and makes recommendations, responsibility for decisions on whether or not to list a building remain, under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, with the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State has received advice from English Heritage on the Edinburgh Dome at Malvern St. James School, and he will aim to make a decision by 30 November. He will inform the hon. Member of the outcome.
