To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government whether there are restrictions on local authorities using their powers as laid under Part 2 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 to change the timing of their elections, other than the provisions laid out in the primary legislation. There are no restrictions on local authorities using their powers under part 2 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 to change their scheme of elections, other than those laid out in primary legislation by Parliament.
