To ask the Solicitor-General what salary was paid to the (a) director and (b) chief operating officer of HM Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office in 2006-07. (242162)

The Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office (RCPO) was established as an independent prosecuting authority in April 2005, and is superintended by the Attorney-General. It is a separate Government Department from HM Revenue and Customs.

Details of the salaries of the director and chief operating officer of RCPO in 2006-07 are in the public domain, having been published in the Department's Resource Accounts for 2006-07. Their salaries were £195,000 to £200,000 and £90,000 to £95,000 respectively.
