Defence Estates: Manpower

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many people are employed by the Defence Estates; how many of those are employed in Scotland; what the equivalent figures were for (a) 2004-05, (b) 2005-06, (c) 2006-07 and (d) 2007-08; what the personnel costs of the agency are in 2008-09; and what they were in (i) 2004-05, (ii) 2005-06, (iii) 2006-07 and (iv) 2007-08. Defence Estates’ overall numbers have risen due to additional responsibilities transferred to it from other parts of the MOD, in particular in Germany and Northern Ireland.
