To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how much financial assistance was provided by his Department to (a) Palestine and (b) Israel in 2007-08. (249673)

In 2007-08 the Department for International Development provided a total of £63.6 million in development aid to the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

During the same period we gave no assistance to Israel.
