To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many and what percentage of pupils who gained a GCSE in (a) German, (b) French and (c) Spanish were educated in (i) the state sector and (ii) the independent sector in the latest year for which figures are available, broken down by individual grade. The table shows the number of pupils at the end of KS4 who achieved a GCSE in French, German and Spanish by grade in 2008.
