To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families for what reasons Paul Gray has been appointed as Interim Director of Children’s Services in Doncaster; what Mr Gray’s job specification is; and if he will make a statement. (248695)

[holding answer 19 January 2009]: Dr. Paul Gray was recruited by Doncaster Metropolitan borough council in April 2008 to take up the position of Director of Children’s Services on an interim basis to take lead responsibility for the Children’s Services Authority’s functions as set out in section 18 of the Children Act 2004 and section 4 of “Statutory guidance on the roles and responsibilities of the Director of Children’s Services and Lead Member for Children’s Services 2005”.
