Fraud: Elections

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice with reference to the answer of 7 January 2008, Official Report, column 150W, on fraud: elections, what progress has been made on the Government's plans to bring forward further legislation to implement its policy on requiring valid signatures for the issue of ballot papers in polling stations. The Government continue to consider how this measure could most effectively be implemented. We must ensure, however, that any approach to this issue is aligned with other reforms to the registration and electoral processes.
