To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much her Department and its agencies have received in fees for unsuccessful visa applications in each of the last five years. (252319)

The UK Border Agency International Group does not hold accurate information to answer this question. In order to provide an answer, the amounts would have to be estimated and this could be provided only at disproportionate cost. The visa refusal rate is approximately 20 per cent. globally, though this is spread across the various categories of visa, with different fees attaching to each.
