To ask the Secretary of State for Defence pursuant to his answer of 26 January 2009, Official Report, column 39W, on the Small Scale Focused Intervention Force, what the difference in capability between the Small Scale Focused Intervention Force and the Small Scale Contingent Battle Group is. The Small Scale Contingent Battle Group can undertake the same range of tasks as the Small Scale Focused Intervention Force that it replaced.

The unit currently undertaking this role, 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, also provides an enhanced capability for the Small Scale Contingent Battle Group to undertake air assault operations.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence with reference to the answer of 20 October 2004, Official Report, column 712W, on the Helsinki Headline Goal, what the expected maximum percentage is of troops offered by the UK under the Helsinki Headline Goal which will be infantry. (253387)
