Blood: Donors

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the planned target for blood donation was in each year since 1992; how many units of blood were collected in each year; and what percentage of demand the National Blood Service met in each year. (254150)

The information is not available for the entire time period requested. Figures for blood collection against planned targets and percentage of demand met for red blood cells is only available from the financial year 2000-01, as information was not collated centrally prior to this date.
