Local Government: Suffolk

Volume 487: debated on Thursday 5 February 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government if she will review the processes employed by the Boundary Committee to reach a decision on the options of local government structure in Suffolk. (253123)

The Boundary Committee is a statutory committee of the Electoral Commission which reports to Parliament and not Government, and its review processes are a matter for the Committee itself. The Secretary of State will have regard to all relevant matters when considering any advice provided by the Boundary Committee in response to the Secretary of State’s request for advice of 6 February 2008.
