To ask the Minister for Women and Equality how many full-time equivalent staff in the Government Equalities Office provide assistance to special advisers; and what the cost of employing such staff was in each year since the Office was established. (251676)

One officer has worked full-time alongside the Minister for Women’s special adviser. The Government Equalities Office was established on 12 October 2007 and in financial year 2007-08 the costs of this arrangement were some £12,000. Estimated costs for financial year 2008-09 are £30,000.
