To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what recent discussions he has had with food retailers on the labelling of pork products with information on the countries of origin and rearing of the pigs concerned. (255360)

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State and I met with representatives of supermarkets and the British Retail Consortium last month to discuss how origin labelling for meat and meat products could be improved so that consumers could make an informed choice when buying these products.
