To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what the cost was of external legal services provided to his Department in each of the last five years. (251350)

The amount spent by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) on legal fees in respect of counsel and solicitors in private practice by way of disbursements via the Treasury Solicitor (the bulk of our external legal costs) in each of the past five years is as follows:
