Departmental Translation Services

Volume 488: debated on Wednesday 25 February 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many language translators are employed in (a) each of his Department’s Executive agencies and (b) its non-Ministerial department; and what the cost of translating services provided by such people was in the latest period for which information is available. (257145)

The central Department and its agencies do not employ any staff specifically for translation purposes. However, when such services are required they will be procured on an ad hoc basis.
