Special Educational Needs: Pupil Exclusions

Volume 488: debated on Wednesday 25 February 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families pursuant to the Answer of 11 February 2009, Official Report, column 2117W on special educational needs: pupil exclusions, what the equivalent figures were for each year since 1997. (258245)

Information on fixed period exclusions was collected for the first time for the school year 2003/04.

In 2005/06 the method of data collection changed and information was collected from secondary schools only. We have consequently provided information for the school years 2003/04 and 2004/05, the only years for which comparable figures are available.
