Surveillance: EU Action

Volume 488: debated on Wednesday 25 February 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether police forces of other EU member states are authorised to conduct surveillance operations of private property in the UK, including but not limited to personal computers, without a warrant; and if she will make a statement. (250873)

Pursuant to the answer I gave the hon. Member on 26 January 2009, Official Report, column 94W, I can confirm that no police forces of other EU member states are authorised to conduct remote or covert surveillance of private property in the UK.
