Sick Leave: Revenue and Customs

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the average number of days lost to sickness in the latest year for which figures are available for (a) all HM Revenue and Customs staff and (b) HM Revenue and Customs staff working in contact centres. (258644)

In the year to 31 December 2008, the average number of working days lost to sickness for the equivalent of each full-time member of staff, was for (a) HM Revenue and Customs 10.37 and for (b) HM Revenue and Customs Contact Centres 17.45.
