To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of the implications for the Government’s foreign policy of changes in US foreign policy towards Russia. (258696)

The Government welcome the Obama Administration’s readiness to make progress with Russia on non-proliferation and disarmament and other issues of importance, including Iran, security in Afghanistan and international economic reform.

The US Administration’s approach of engaging with Russia on key issues of mutual interest mirrors that of the UK. The Government will be working closely with the US Administration in this area.
