The Government have provided financial support for road safety activities to the four local highway authorities in the area covered by the Safer Roads Humber partnership. The local authorities are responsible for final decisions about how much funding to allocate to the Safer Roads Humber partnership. The funding the local authorities put into the partnership is subject to the relevant audit requirements placed on the local authorities.

The funding support provided to the local authorities in the Humber area relating specifically to road safety in 2008-09 is shown in the following table.
