DECC currently has no plans to appoint a Chief Engineering Advisor. The Chief Scientific Adviser for DECC, who will be appointed shortly, will deal with issues relating to science, engineering and technology—as does the Government Chief Scientific Adviser and Chief Scientific Advisers in other Departments.
