Transplant Surgery: Republic of Ireland

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many transplant operations were performed on people from the Republic of Ireland in each of the last 10 years; how many organs for transplant were imported from the Republic of Ireland in each of the last 10 years; and how much the Irish Government paid the NHS for the procedures in each such year. The following table shows transplants performed on residents of the Republic of Ireland in United Kingdom NHS hospitals, April 1998 to March 2008, broken down by financial year and type of transplant.
