To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what estimate was made of the cost of implementation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 before it was introduced; and what the cost of implementation has been. (260841)

The regulatory impact assessment for the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 estimated the overall cost to business of obtaining the guidance and becoming familiar with it to be within the range of £66 million to £88.8 million.

The cost of implementing the provisions of the order will vary according to the outcome of individual fire safety risk assessments carried out by responsible persons. This information is not collected centrally.
