Stonehenge: Olympic Games 2012

Volume 488: debated on Friday 6 March 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what plans he has for a temporary tourism facility at Stonehenge during the London 2012 Olympics. (260619)

[holding answer 4 March 2009]: The Government have stated their commitment to delivering environmental improvements at Stonehenge, including new visitor centre facilities by 2012. To this end, the Stonehenge Project Board has recommended to Ministers a location for the new visitor centre, following a public consultation. I am currently considering the recommendation and an announcement will be made in due course.
