We want equal pay for women because women are of equal value. The forthcoming Equality Bill will include a number of measures to improve pay transparency. From April we are also extending the right to request flexible working to the parents of children up to 16, and the Equalities and Human Rights Commission is conducting a formal inquiry into the financial services sector, where the gender pay gap is 44.4 per cent.
