To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if he will bring forward the timetable for consultation of Canvey residents on plans to flood the west of Canvey Island. (263482)

The Thames Estuary 2100 plan considers flood risk management and habitat creation proposals for the whole Thames estuary. It will be released for consultation by the Environment Agency on the 31 March 2009. West Canvey Marshes is one site in the plan and needs to be best considered as part of the wider estuary consultation.
