Lung Cancer: Cumbria

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how many people in (a) Cumbria and (b) Copeland constituency were diagnosed with lung cancer in each of the last five years. (263803)

As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question asking how many people in (a) Cumbria and (b) Copeland had been diagnosed with lung cancer in each of the last five years. [263803]

The latest available figures for newly diagnosed cases of cancer (incidence) are for the year 2006. Numbers of newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer in each calendar year since 2002 for people in (a) Cumbria county and (b) Copeland local authority are in Table 1.
