Anti-Semitism: Greater London

Volume 489: debated on Tuesday 17 March 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate she has made of the number of anti-Semitic attacks in London in each of the last five years; and what steps she is taking to combat anti-Semitic attacks. (256397)

The statistics collected centrally in relation to religious or racially motivated offences do not include information that would allow the separate identification of offences committed against the Jewish community. This information could therefore be provided only at disproportionate cost. Work on tackling anti-Semitic attacks forms part of the overall cross-government action on hate crime and will be reflected in the cross-governmental Hate Crime strategy that we are committed to producing.
