Wind Power: Planning Permission

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on how many occasions in the last three years a planning application for commercial wind turbines has been called in on the grounds that it involves planning issues of more than local importance. (263886)

Since 1 January 2006 only one application for a commercial wind turbine has been called in for decision by the Secretary of State. The application was for a single wind turbine at Mill Plain, Glyndebourne, called in on the grounds that the proposal may conflict with national policies on important matters.
