Employment and Support Allowance

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether the new integrated disability employment support package being proposed to replace Work Preparation and Workstep will include a disability impact assessment. (262639)

An Equality Impact Assessment was published in December 2008 on initiatives covered in the White Paper “Raising expectations and increasing support: reforming welfare for the future”. This included a focus on disability in the new specialist disability programme replacing Workstep, Work Preparation and Job Introduction Scheme. The Equality Impact Assessment was published on-line, in December 2008, at:

www.dwp.gov.uk/raisingexpectations

and is being kept under review.

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many people were receiving disability benefit in (a) Bexleyheath and Crayford constituency, (b) the London Borough of Bexley and (c) Greater London in each of the last five years. (264972)
