To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much funding has been received for the British pavilion for the Shanghai World Expo 2010. (263509)

The information requested is as follows:

£10,241,314 by 31 March 2009. This is made up of £1,351,600 from private sector sponsors; £8,889,714 from public sector sponsors.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of the British pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. (263510)

The design and building costs of the pavilion are £13.8 million, including a contingency of £1.8 million. The cost to the public purse of the pavilion will be this sum minus a share of sponsorship from the private sector.
