To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many teachers left the profession before retirement age in each year since 1997. (268480)

The following table provides the total full and part-time headcount of regular teachers leaving service from local authority maintained schools in England before the normal age of retirement, 1997-98 to 2006-07, the latest information available.
