Departmental Mobile Phones

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how much has been spent on (a) the purchase of and (b) bills for (i) BlackBerrys and (ii) other mobile telephones for (A) Ministers, (B) special advisers and (C) civil servants in his Department in each year since 2005. (268245)

The Department for International Development (DFID) purchases its mobile telephones and BlackBerrys from a number of suppliers. No central record is held within DFID of the costs of purchase and usage, and this could not be obtained without disproportionate cost.
