To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many complaints have been received from (a) tenants and (b) landlords regarding the tenancy deposit scheme since it became operational. (271274)

The three tenancy deposit scheme providers have received a total of 358 complaints since the scheme was launched in April 2007. We do not have a breakdown between complaints received from landlords and tenants. Communities and Local Government has no role in dealing with such complaints.
