Renewable Energy: Finance

Volume 491: debated on Monday 27 April 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change which 10 renewable energy projects have received the greatest amount of funding from Government sources in each of the last 30 years; and what the location of each such project is. (263056)

The information requested is not held centrally and to provide an answer for 30 years would incur disproportionate cost.

The following table lists the 10 largest renewable energy projects funded by DECC, CLG, DfT, the Research Councils and the Technology Strategy Board, and their predecessors, since 2003-04. Grants are attributed to the year in which the project grant was first claimed, though most grants are paid out over several years.
