In 2008, in maintained schools located in the Copeland constituency 28 pupils eligible for free school meals achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C or equivalent at the end of key stage 4. This is equivalent to 30.1 per cent. of the pupils in that cohort who are eligible for free school meals.
