To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent reports her Department has received on allegations that persons have been obliged to sign applications for leave to remain under duress by their spouses; and if she will make a statement. (273047)

The information requested could be obtained only by the detailed examination of individual case records at disproportionate cost, all relevant information, including an allegation of duress if made would be considered prior to any decision being taken on an application.
