As part of the monitoring of performance under national indicator 71, all local authorities must provide quarterly self-assessments on the extent to which their Children's Trust, local Safeguarding Children's Board, or other delegated body has a picture of patterns of running away in their area; of how this information informs local service provision; and of what procedures are in place to respond to the needs of young runaways.
One local authority—Warwickshire—has selected national indicator 71 as one of indicators for which a specified target for improvement is attached, as part of their local area agreement.
