To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will make it her policy to limit the use by police forces of 0845 non-emergency telephone numbers. (273826)

[holding answer 8 May 2009]: It is a matter for individual police forces what number they use for non-emergency telephone contact and the Home Office has no plans to limit the use of 0845 numbers operated by police forces.
