York-Beverley Railway Line

Volume 494: debated on Tuesday 16 June 2009

To ask the Minister of State, Department for Transport what recent discussions he has had with East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the possibility of reopening the Beverley to York railway line; and if he will make a statement. (279927)

Neither I nor my predecessor have had any recent discussions with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the possibility of reopening the Beverley to York railway line. The council would be aware that it would be for the local authorities to determine whether reopening the line is the best way to address local transport issues.
