The Government are working to offer help and support to people whose lives are being affected by the current economic recession. This Department, Her Majesty's Treasury, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills are co-ordinating efforts to help address the needs of people during the current economic recession.

Health advisers on the dedicated NHS Direct telephone helpline are being trained to identify callers who might be experiencing depression because of the current economic recession and to refer them to appropriate sources of help.
